DRIVEN DIFFERENTLY
REDEFINING WHAT'S POSSIBLE
Julian McBride is a disabled racing driver competing in the Britcar Endurance Championship
Alongside racing, he works as an ARDS Instructor, Motorsport UK Level 2 Coach and FIA Disability in Motorsport Mentor, supporting drivers, individuals and organisations to develop performance on and off the track
Following a spinal injury that left him paralysed from the waist down, Julian refused to accept that motorsport was no longer possible. Instead, he adapted both his driving technique and the engineering of his race cars to compete on equal terms with able-bodied drivers
Today he combines racing, driver coaching and speaking engagements focused on performance, resilience and mindset

ENGINEERED THROUGH ADVERSITY
Julian’s journey into motorsport began following a life-changing spinal injury in 2011.
Diagnosed with Cauda Equina Syndrome, he was left paralysed from the waist down and faced years of rehabilitation to regain partial mobility.
Rather than accepting limitations and letting it define him, he pursued a long-held ambition to race.
Since beginning his racing career in 2016, Julian has built a competitive endurance racing programme while adapting both driving technique and vehicle engineering to compete at national level motorsport.
