Julian McBride will compete in the Britcar Endurance Championship in 2026, marking the next step in a racing career built on steady progression through UK endurance motorsport.

Originally from Lancashire, Julian began racing in 2016 and has since established a strong record in endurance racing. His results include 3rd in Class A in the 2018 750 Motor Club Club Enduro Championship, followed by significant success in the BRSCC Supersport Endurance Championship, where he finished Class B Champion and overall runner-up in 2023, before securing another Class B championship in 2024.

For the 2026 season, Julian will step up to the Britcar grid driving a BMW E46 powered by a BMW S55 engine and paired with a Drenth sequential gearbox, run by the highly respected BMW specialists Geoff Steel Racing.

The move represents a deliberate step into one of the UK’s most competitive endurance racing environments, racing on some of the country’s best-known circuits against experienced drivers and well-developed machinery.

Speaking about the move, Julian said:

“I wanted to compete at a higher level and push myself against stronger competition. Despite being partially disabled, I’ve worked every year to improve as a driver and compete on equal terms with able-bodied drivers. I’m here to show that disability and age should not limit someone’s ambition.”

Alongside his racing activities, Julian continues to work as an ARDS Instructor, Motorsport UK Level 2 Coach and FIA Disability in Motorsport Mentor, supporting drivers and individuals involved in the sport.

The 2026 season represents another step forward for the programme as Julian continues to combine competitive racing, driver coaching and speaking engagements focused on performance and resilience.
