Spa-Francorchamps provided a stern test for Julian McBride and Geoff Steel Racing, with changing weather, on-track drama and overnight repairs shaping a challenging weekend in Belgium.

Julian McBride secured his first Britcar Endurance Championship podium at Oulton Park with a composed drive from 17th on the grid. A disrupted qualifying left work to do, but strong race management and a well-executed strategy saw him finish 3rd in class in just his second race in the series.

Julian McBride made a strong start to his Britcar Endurance Championship campaign with a top-five finish at Donington Park. A well-timed strategy and confident racecraft saw him climb through the field on debut, leaving with a result that puts him firmly on the front foot heading into Oulton Park.

Julian McBride returns to the track at Donington Park ahead of the Britcar season, testing alongside four-time BTCC champion Colin Turkington.

Julian McBride will compete in the Britcar Endurance Championship in 2026, driving a BMW E46 with Geoff Steel Racing as his endurance racing career steps up to a new level.

Having made the commitment to race, I asked myself: ​ How do you get into racing? Where do you start? What do you need to think about / what are the considerations? What car do you race? What series do you race in? Do you buy a ready-to-race car or have one built for you? How much will it cost? ​ I've shared here my own experience as a partially disabled person of getting started in racing. It 's the same for anyone, except for me I had to undertake an additional assessment

I thought I'd share my experience of becoming a racing driver and what I've gone through, along with a few car modifications.
