Julian McBride Set for Snetterton with Phil Keen

Julian McBride returns to Britcar Endurance Championship action this weekend as the series heads to Snetterton for Round 4 of the 2026 season, looking to build on the progress made since the last outing at Spa-Francorchamps.

Since Spa, attention has turned to preparation for Snetterton. Recent testing has allowed Julian and the Geoff Steel Racing team to work through a number of changes to the BMW E46, with the aim of arriving at Round 4 in a stronger position.

Round 4 takes place on the Snetterton 300 circuit in Norfolk, a fast and demanding 2.97-mile layout featuring 12 corners, long straights and several heavy braking zones. The combination of high-speed sections and technical corners rewards consistency as much as outright pace, providing another important test as Julian continues to grow in confidence behind the wheel of the BMW.

Joining Julian for the weekend is one of Britain’s most successful GT racers, Phil Keen. His experience at the highest level of GT and endurance racing provides another valuable opportunity for Julian to continue his development during his first season in the championship’s GT class.

A multiple British GT champion and race winner, Keen has enjoyed success across GT3 and GT4 competition over a career spanning more than two decades. His experience and technical knowledge will provide a valuable benchmark throughout the weekend as the pair share driving duties aboard the Geoff Steel Racing BMW.

On this weekend's round, Julian said:

“After a difficult weekend at Spa, the last couple of weeks have been spent testing and working through a number of changes to the car. Hopefully we’re heading to Snetterton in a much stronger position.

“I’m also delighted to be sharing the BMW with Phil Keen this weekend as we head to Snetterton for Round 4 of the Britcar Endurance Championship.

“Phil is one of Britain’s most accomplished GT and endurance racers, with an incredible record in British GT and international competition. Having someone of his calibre alongside me this weekend is a fantastic opportunity, and one I’m really looking forward to."

Armed with encouraging feedback from testing and the opportunity to learn alongside one of Britain’s leading GT drivers, Julian heads to Norfolk optimistic about the weekend ahead.

While a strong result remains the objective, Snetterton also represents another important opportunity to build experience and continue his development in GT endurance racing.
